Grape got your tongue? Not to worry... Just consider this Weekly a glass half full of taste-worthy tannins! So forget the champagne room; it's all about decante-chambers ripe for the picking!

When the mood to wine down strikes your fancy, answer the cab calling at 55 Degree Wine in Atwater Village. Jenni C follows her 6th sauvignon sense "down the stairs to a dimly-lit wine cellar," and soon becomes another of the "jovial-looking wine drinkers." Or, seek tasting cover with Pauline L at Corkbar in Downtown: "It's like old school wine tasting places, but modern and cool." Among the plethora of Pasadena's bottled bevi stations, Nose Wine Cellar is Nga T's current crush. She even channels Roger Rabbit to profess her appreciation of it: "How do I love thee? Let me count the ways..." Three cheers to that! Yvonne D prefers Glendale's Palate Food + Wine: "From the get-go you can tell that PF+W is a wine junkie haven." Make sure to head straight for the "cozy wine cellar, complete with a cheese room in the back." De-flight-ful!

We Angelenos are blessed with a fine selection of meal maestros who orchestrate magical dining experiences, and David P is currently under the Patina spell: "The sommelier was anything but scary — he spoke to me like an old friend; I couldn't have been more comfortable." According to Janet B, there is a simple strategy for visiting Tasca: "Plan on drinking wine because they have a wonderful selection and many of their servers are sommeliers who'll give you the best recommendations." A new dress was the occasion for Jennifer J and her fella to check out Noir Food & Wine in Pasadena, but we have a sneaky feeling they won't need an excuse to go back. "Throughout the evening we enjoyed not only the sweet, friendly, and exceptionally knowledgeable bartender assisting us with the wine and menu, but also the company of Claud Beltran himself." Ooh, that dress was a show stopper!

Sometimes just a decanter of your fave varietal at home does the trick. Jennifer L recently met her match at Mission Wines in South Pas. "They were extremely helpful in not only choosing wines but helping expand our knowledge of grapes and regions. I enjoyed walking through the aisles and can't wait to go back." Or, if you're ready to take your sipping to the next level, the "Liquid Crack" at Silverlake Wine. Lindsay M's addicted and we can understand wine!

Since 2005, Yelp has had an automated system in place to ensure the over 10 million reviews you are reading are useful and helpful. It's called the Review Filter! Think of it like Batman, without the cape but all the vigilance. Its mission: To protect yelpers and business owners around the world from spamming, shilling, drive-by reviewing and all-around shady or malicious activity. Curious about how it works? Check out this video – or see for yourself the misdeeds it has to fight daily. Pow!

"I've been here twice in the last month and it did not disappoint.

It is extremely laid back and unpretentious.

The people are very nice and knowledgeable. They have a huge selection of wine by the glass, ranging from $6 to 12 or so.  They will also make you a flight of any three wines for $15. I…"

We had a flight of red wine, delicious.
Bacon wrapped dates, divine.

"I went with my gf for an early vday event this past Saturday.

The place was easy to find using a navi and there wasn't a whole lot of street parking but we got lucky.  Just a warning: we saw the parking enforcement nazis (two of them) giving out tickets so becareful where you park

"I'd love your suggestions on this one...

I love a nice glass of wine with my meal.  OK, I also enjoy finshing off the bottle, preferrably with good company.  I love when I can bring a pinot noir along to better enjoy the meal.

The best pairings are when the food is actually good, as well!"

"You are not a snob.  But you like a good wine, and you're young and yuppie enough to go for an $80 bottle of wine a few times a year.  Here's where you go."

Cheap Corkage & BYOB
"I like the bubbly.  Problem is, most places have something really cheap and nasty, or really expensive and yummy.  I'm an 'in the middle' kind of guy.  So, until the wine stewards of Los Angeles start offering a better Champagne selection, I've started keeping a list of establishments with free or…"
